Lisa Bartlett-Kliever, LCSW-C
Lisa L. Kliever is a licensed clinical social worker with over 18 years of experience in the field of mental health and over 9 years of experience as a practicing clinician. Ms. Kliever has an impressive educational background including two Master’s degrees: a Masters of Social Work from Salisbury University and a Masters of Science in Leisure Studies from Penn State. In addition to her graduate studies, Ms. Kliever has earned several advanced trauma certifications, including a year-long collaborative with Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk and the Trauma Center at Justice Resource Institute (JRI). She is an Advanced Certified Trauma Professional (Levels I & II) with the Ferentz Institute and she is also a Certified Anger Management Specialist. At Argo Counseling Center, Ms. Kliever provides individual therapy for adolescents ages 10 – 17, and adults 17 and older.
She specializes in identifying and healing the impact of chronic complex trauma and single-incident trauma. In addition to helping clients heal from their traumatic experiences, she also provides treatment for individuals with co-occurring substance abuse disorders, anxiety disorders, mood and depressive disorders.

During her summers, Ms. Kliever works in collaboration with the Equine Discovery Center and therapeutic barn on the Eastern Shore, offering Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning for both youths-at-risk and adjudicated youths. As a Certified EAGALA Mental Health Professional, this equine psychotherapy model pairs nicely with traditional mental health practice making sessions both clinically powerful and experiential in nature. Her latest venture is pairing Dr. Brené Brown’s Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™ models with the EAGLA Model Equine Assisted Learning experience.
